THE E-BIKE DESK
E-bikes
Electric bikes that are genuinely enjoyable to ride—and practical enough to live with. Hands-on reviews, city commuting, motors, braking, comfort and the less glamorous realities of ownership.
The reviews
Every review is tied to an identifiable period of use. Older bikes are labeled by the year tested; prices, firmware and product availability may have changed. These are independent accounts based on firsthand material, not newly staged 2026 rides.

How we judge e-bikes
Motor response matters, but so do brakes, storage, fit, real-world weight, visibility, service access and a battery that can be charged conveniently. We don’t present a manufacturer’s maximum range as a measured result. A review unit supplied by a company is disclosed; an older test is not described as a new ride.
